We’re excited to offer this amazing new technology at an affordable price that many patients can enjoy. However, our traditional retainers made by taking impressions will still be an option. In this blog, we break down the cost comparison between the two, so you can make an informed decision for yourself and your family.
Why Digital Retainers?
Our DRG program allows patients to get retainers replaced at any time, no questions asked! Fast, mess free, digital scans are stored on the cloud and referred to whenever patients need a new retainer, saving them an extra trip into the office. These retainers are custom-made by Invisalign and their patented plastic technology. They are thin, transparent plastic, designed to fit precisely over your teeth for enhanced comfort. All current Fry Orthodontic patients have the option to upgrade to these new, state of the art retainers.
Digital Retainer Guarantee Costs
With a one-time activation fee of $795, patients will receive two sets of digital retainers at the end of treatment and can order unlimited replacement retainers for five years at any time for only $25 per retainer ($50 per set). Ordering will now be more convenient than ever! To order a replacement retainer, simply call our office and schedule a time to come pick them up. Since the digital scan is now stored on the cloud, there will be no reason for you to come back in to receive another impression as long as you have been consistently wearing your retainer. If you prefer to have your retainers shipped directly to you, the turnaround time is 5-10 business days.
Does Fry Orthodontics Still Offer Traditional Retainers?
Yes. If you do not wish to sign up for the Digital Retainer Guarantee, patients will be offered our traditional retainer option. Traditional retainers are made by taking a mold of the teeth using alginate impression material.
Traditional Retainer Costs
Patients who choose the traditional retainer option, will receive one traditional style retainer at their removal appointment at no additional cost. If they lose, break or need a replacement made for any reason, the patient will be required to come into the office to have a new mold taken of their teeth. The cost for a replacement traditional retainer will be $300 per retainer ($600 for the full set).
Payment Options for the Digital Retainer Guarantee
There are a few different payment options we have in place for patients who would like to take advantage of our new digital retainers for $795.

- At Fry, we offer interest-free financing for up to 24 months! If you choose to sign-up for our digital retainer guarantee program upon starting orthodontic treatment, we can roll the $795 cost into your monthly payments
- Discounted payment plan
- In order to make digital retainers more affordable for everyone, we are now offering new patients the option to put down $195 and have 6 monthly payments of $100 towards the DRG program.
