No. You can schedule a free orthodontic exam directly with Fry Orthodontics without a referral. We can also coordinate with your general dentist when routine dental care or other treatment is needed.
Fry Orthodontics offers metal braces, clear ceramic braces, and Invisalign. The right option depends on your tooth movement, bite, treatment goals, and whether a fixed or removable appliance is the better fit.

It can be. Invisalign is removable and less noticeable than traditional braces, which may appeal to college students balancing classes, work, interviews, presentations, and social activities. The best choice still depends on the tooth movement and bite correction you need, so an orthodontic evaluation is the first step.
Yes. Many college students begin or continue orthodontic treatment while attending school. Your orthodontist can discuss appointment frequency, breaks between semesters, travel, and whether braces or clear aligners fit your schedule best.
Both orthodontists and some general dentists can provide Invisalign, but orthodontists complete additional specialty education focused specifically on tooth movement, bite correction, and jaw alignment. Fry Orthodontics is also a Sapphire Invisalign Provider, a distinction associated with substantial Invisalign treatment experience that many general dental practices do not achieve. Choosing an orthodontist means your Invisalign treatment is planned by a specialist whose primary focus is orthodontic tooth movement and bite correction.
Yes. If you know you may move during treatment, tell the team as early as possible. Your orthodontist can discuss timing, records, retainers, and how care may be transferred if another orthodontist needs to complete treatment after you relocate.
Many children benefit from an orthodontic evaluation while adult teeth are still developing. An early exam does not automatically mean braces are needed right away; it helps the orthodontist identify growth, spacing, or bite concerns and recommend the right timing if treatment may be helpful.
If a bracket, wire, aligner, or other appliance is causing a problem, contact the Fry Orthodontics team for guidance. Many minor issues can be managed temporarily at home, while broken or uncomfortable appliances may require an office visit. You can also review our orthodontic emergency guidance.
Yes. Retainers help hold teeth in their corrected positions after active orthodontic treatment. Your team will explain when to wear your retainer, how to care for it, and options for protecting your smile long term, including Fry Orthodontics' Digital Retainer Guarantee.
Decades of experience, specialized orthodontic training, and a patient-first approach to healthy, confident smiles.
